Job Opening: Director of Service-Learning @ Cesar Chavez Education Institute

The Cesar Chavez Education Institute has an immediate opening for a highly organized and efficient Director of Service Learning. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to directing, administering, and coordinating the activities of the service-learning programs, funding and contracts, and programmatic objectives established by the Vice President by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Service Learning designs and coordinates the Chavez Foundation’s service-learning initiative in California and Arizona.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive long-range and annual service-learning program plans.
  • Identify prospective sources of program-specific funds and contracts
  • Manage existing and future service-learning contracts with schools and school districts
  • Develop marketing strategy and packaging for our Educating the Heart Service-Learning Initiative
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with strategic partners
  • Support service-learning program implementation with schools and school districts in California and Arizona
  • Manage service-learning consultants and other vendor consultants

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Position requires commitment to National Farm Workers Service Center and Chavez Education Institute’s Core Values as articulated in the Strategic Plan.

 

Requirements:

 

Bachelors Degree required

Masters Degree preferred

Five (5) to Seven (7) years experience in the Education industry at a Director level

Service-learning and related experience is strongly preferred

Previous experience supervising up to 10 employees

Excellent communication skills

Bilingual Spanish preferred

Must have a valid driver's license and personal automobile insurance
